RighteousWe took an exceptional string of horses to the 2013 Morgan Grand National this year, and our homework efforts certainly paid off. The partnership of Mary Geisler and Marilyn Esteb enjoyed watching their beautiful stallion RIGHTEOUS (SpiceOLife Right Answer x Arboria Champagne) take the Reserve World Champion Open Western Pleasure title in a huge, hotly contested class with Rick in the saddle. Andrew Brown's STILWELL THUNDER (UVM Springfield x Hollybrook First Kiss), a four year old stallion who had a super first season with Rick, won the Grand National Four Year Old Western Pleasure Stallion/Gelding title on his way to Reserve World Champion Four Year Old Western Pleasure. Stablemate STILWELL LEGACY (UVM Springfield x MJP's Heavenly Flaire) also brought home a title as the Grand National Western Pleasure Three Yr Old Stallion/Gelding Champion. Owner/breeder Lori Sargeant enjoyed showing her TFF SELENE (LPS The Boogie Man x Oak Grove First Lady) for the first time in Oklahoma City and took home two Reserve Grand National Championships in Western Pleasure Ladies Amateur Mare and Western Pleasure Amateur Mare. Lori also shared her beautiful mare with Rick so they could win the Grand National Western Pleasure Mare Championship. CBMF FandangoLori also brought the beautiful 3 yr old mare, CBMF FANDANGO (Ben's Rhapsody x AFF Little Liza Jane) to Oklahoma to win, but she did not take her home! She and Rick swept their division winning the Grand National Three Yr Old Western Pleasure Mare Championship, Three Yr Old Western Pleasure World Championship and the Futurity Three Yr Old Western Pleasure Reserve World Championship. "Fanny" caught the eye of Terri Sturm and headed to Las Vegas after the show with a new owner. Stacey Resler and Jim Little's beautiful World Champion HOLLYBROOK TOUCHE (Futurity French Command x Bery Banke Arboria) returned to claim the Grand National Western Pleasure Gentlemens Finals Champion, and Stacey enjoyed a strong third in her Grand National Western Pleasure Amateur Masters qualifier, which was incredibly deep with great competitors. MLB Power PlayOwner/breeder Laurie Faust and her MLB POWER PLAY (Play The Odds x Glyndan Melodious Joy) had a spectacular year and his performance at the Grand National was equally stellar. Winning the Grand National Champion Wetsern Pleasure Gelding title with Rick in the saddle, Laurie took over the reins and after one rough class, she and "Houston" found their magic together and went on to win the Grand National Western Pleasure Ladies Amateur Gelding Sec. A, then wrapped up their show with the title of World Champion Western Pleasure Amateur Masters. Houston said goodbye to Laurie as he headed east with new trainer David Rand under the ownership of the Gatewood Family's Dantree Farm, and we wish Amy the best with her new mount. There is nobody more game and determined than Janelle Schroeder of Cadence Farm, and she proved to us all that barely qualifying at your regional can be a strong incentive to do your homework before Oklahoma! Janelle and GULFWIND HIGH FIDELITY brought home Top Five World Champion Western Pleasure Ladies Amateur and excellent Top Tens in World Champion Amateur Western Pleasure, Grand National Western Pleasure Ladies Gelding, Grand National Ladies Amateur Gelding Sec. B and Grand National Western Pleasure Amateur Gelding--all very tough, huge and deep classes! So we offer a toast to Janelle and her remarkable Reggie, you are definitely the Most Improved Pair for the year and we are all so very proud of your great performances! Making her first trip to Oklahoma was Rick's capable assistant, Alix Mitchell, who teamed up with Darryl and Kathy Pierce's beautiful KINZU BITTER TEARS (Battle Cry x Sacred Path's Mona Lisa) to win two Reserve Grand National Championships in the Western Pleasure Youth Mares and the Four Year Old Western Pleasure Mares. This capable duo also tied third in the Youth World Championship and were Top Ten in World Champion Four Yr Old Western Pleasure and Grand National Western Pleasure Ladies Mare. "Derby" found a new owner in Oklahoma City and went back to the great state of Ohio with Meredith Rozier! Alix also turned in two great rides on TREBLE'S TAKE THE STAGE (Hollybrook Stage Rage x Treble's Take Me On), coming home with Grand National Reserve Champion Hunter Pleasure Youth Stallions/Geldings Sec A, and a Top Five finish in the tough World Champion Youth Hunter Pleasure for Manasota Morgans.

PL Precious BlessingThere's always fun in the sun at the Summer's End Horse Show in Ocala! And we let the sun shine in with Brenda Matusik's beautiful buckskin girl PL PRECIOUS BLESSING (SFG Infinity And Beyond x Immortal Blessing), winner of her Four Year Old Western Pleasure qualifier and the Junior Western Pleasure Horse Championship in her debut performance. Lori Sargeant brought another first-timer in CBMF FANDANGO (Ben's Rhapsody x AFF Little Liza Jane), who Rick rode to a first place finish in the Western Pleasure Three Yr Old class. Thrilling the crowd at this show was last year's open World Champion, Treble's Take The StageHOLLYBROOK TOUCHE (Futurity French Command x Bery Banke Arboria), owned by Manasota Morgans, Stacey Resler and Jim Little. Touche and Rick won the Open Western Pleasure and then Stacey piloted her beautiful stallion to the Amateur Western Pleasure Championship as well as a win in the Amateur Masters. Owner/breeder Laurie Faust and her MLB POWER PLAY (Play The Odds x Glyndan Melodious Joy) also enjoyed a strong show as the Reserve Amateur Western Pleasure Champions after winning the Amateur Western Pleasure and Ladies Amateur qualifiers. Getting qualified for the Hunter Pleasure division in OKC was TREBLE'S TAKE THE STAGE (Hollybrook Stage Rage x Treble's Take Me On) with Alix Mitchell up. Alix and "Sparky" were the Open Hunter Pleasure Champions, won the Open Hunter Pleasure and were second in Hunter Pleasure Ladies for Manasota Morgans.

RighteousThe 2013 Jubilee Regional Championship in Springfield, Illinois is a strong show and the perfect place to test the water with your Oklahoma contenders. RIGHTEOUS (SpiceOLife Right Answer x Arboria Champagne) was just that as he jogged down victory lane with the Grand Champion Open Western Pleasure title after winning the Western Pleasure Stallion/Gelding qualifier. The product of a collaboration between two breeders, Mary Geisler's SpiceOLife Morgans and Marilyn Esteb's Stone Pine Farm, this is a stallion who has an ethereal beauty and has won every championship he's entered this year. Andrew Brown's STILWELL THUNDER (UVM Springfield x Hollybrook First Kiss), faced a large class of junior horses to secure Reserve Champion Junior Western Pleasure with Rick in the saddle. Lori Sargeant's beautiful World Champion TFF SELENE (LPS The Boogie Man x Oak Grove First Lady) won the Western Pleasure Mares qualifier with Rick, and gave Lori four clean rides in the Ladies and Amateur division.

Sarde's Rock of LoveFour nice horses traveled north to attend the 2013 Blue Ridge Classic, and this was the first time Gervasio Pleasure Horses has attended this nice show. SARDE'S ROCK OF LOVE (Lamborghini In Black x Treble's Tainted Love) turned in two good rides to win the Open Western Pleasure qualifier as well as the Open Hollybrook ToucheChampionship. This smooth riding gelding is owned by Roxanne Sardelli in Clayville, RI and is available for purchase and would be an awesome juvenile hunt/western entry. Andrew Brown's STILWELL THUNDER (UVM Springfield x Hollybrook First Kiss), a four year old stallion who got his start on the west coast and moved to Ocala just a few months ago, won the Western Pleasure Junior/Limit Horse class. The Stilwell horses are new to our barn this year and we are excited to be able to win for these nice folks. Making her debut in the Ladies and Amateur Western Pleasure division after winning World Championships as a junior horse was TFF SELENE (LPS The Boogie Man x Oak Grove First Lady) with owner/breeder Lori Sargeant in the saddle. Lori has been patiently waiting for her time and is thrilled to be able to enjoy her nice mare at last. She won the Amateur Championship after tying reserve in the Ladies and third in the amateur qualifier, so each ride just got better and better. Stacey Resler and her beautiful World Champion HOLLYBROOK TOUCHE (Futurity French Command x Bery Banke Arboria) are another pair that has been anxiously waiting their turn. After getting their feet wet at Gold Cup, Stacy and Touche had their first victory pass together here at Blue Ridge in the Amateur Western Pleasure qualifier, but did not show back in the championship.

RIghteousStorms and tough competition made the 2013 Gold Cup Regional a challenging show for Team Gervasio. Fresh off his Southern States wins, the five year old stallion RIGHTEOUS (SpiceOLife Right Answer x Arboria Mystique) duplicated his two open classes at the Gold Cup with a second in his qualifier and a good win in the Open WRR Ace In The HoleChampionship. Making a strong debut in the western pleasure four year old division was WRR ACE IN THE HOLE (Treble's Mucho Uno x DLH En Vogue), who pulled a reserve in the Western Pleasure Four Yr Olds and was the Reserve Junior Champion Western Pleasure horse with Rick in the saddle. This beautiful and smooth gelding caught the eye of Dr. John Huse of SpringMill Morgans, and returned from the show to Indian Creek Farm with Shanna Gish to prepare for the amateur division. Holding her own for the distaff side was Daryl & Kathleen Pierce's adorable KINZU BITTER TEARS (Battle Cry x Sacred Path's Mona Lisa), a strong contender for the 3 yr old division this year. She pulled a strong reserve in both Western Pleasure Mares as well as in the Limit Western Pleasure. "Derby" is now ready for an amateur or junior exhibitor rider, find out more about her on our Sales page. It was a great debut with two wonderful rides for the new amateur team of Stacey Resler and her beautiful World Champion HOLLYBROOK TOUCHE (Futurity French Command x Bery Banke Arboria), who were Reserve in Western Pleasure Amateur Stallions/Geldings and Reserve Champion Amateur Western Pleasure.

Kinzu Bitter TearsSouthern States Regional News: Raleigh, NC was a refreshing change of scenery and the southern hospitality at this great show is always a pleasure for horses and clients. We enjoyed a tremendous show with several great wins. RIGHTEOUS (SpiceOLife Right Answer x Arboria Mystique) took his red qualifier ribbon and turned it into blue-red-yellow for the championship win in the Open Western Pleasure division for owners Geisler and Esteb. The steady and cute UDM High Waters3 year old mare KINZU BITTER TEARS (Battle Cry x Sacred Path's Mona Lisa) was reserve in the Western Pleasure Mares class and won the Western Pleasure Limit Horse for owners/breeders Daryl & Kathleen Pierce of Kinzu Morgans. Rick took a turn on Laurie Faust's beautiful MLB POWER PLAY (Play The Odds x Glendan Melodious Joy) to win the Western Pleasure Gentlemen, then turned "Houston" back over to Laurie so she could enjoy a good win in a tough Ladies Amateur Western Pleasure as well as the Western Pleasure Amateur Masters. Laurie and Houston wrapped it up with the Reserve Champion Amateur Western Pleasure title. The flashy and beautiful four year old stallion UDM HIGH WATERS (Sharp Dressed Gentleman x Shahaylee) was right on point for owners/breeders Mike and Karen Burridge when he won the Junior Horse Western Pleasure Championship after tying Reserve in the Western Pleasure Junior Horse qualifier.

Citrus Cup Regional 2013 brings home the blues: Team Gervasio was in full swing during the Citrus Cup Regional, April 10-13th in Newberry, FL. All divisions were well represented and good rides were turned in by all. Headlining the open division was the stunning stallion RIGHTEOUS (SpiceOLife Right Answer x Arboria Mystique), pictured right. This curvy five year old was bred by and is co-owned by Marilyn Esteb of Stone Pine Morgans in Larkspur, CO and Mary Lynn Geisler of SpiceOLife Morgans in Ocala, FL. "Cole" jogged to a win in the Western Pleasure Gentlemen before topping the 4-horse Open Western Pleasure Championship with Rick aboard. Right behind him was Alix Mitchell up on Roxanne Sardelli Greenway's smooth and soft going SARDE'S ROCK OF LOVE (Lamborghini In Black x Treble's Tainted Love) pictured left, a 5 year old gelding that has the size and style to take any amateur or lady rider to the top of their game. Rock was also the winner of theOpen Western Pleasure qualifier with Rick in the saddle. This nice gelding is another outstanding product of the Sarde Morgans program in Clayville, RI, one of the premiere Morgan breeders in the country today. Laurie Faust and her homebred 5 year old gelding, MLB POWER PLAY (Play The Odds x Glyndan Melodious Joy) pictured right, are really starting to click and turned in two outstanding rides to win the Amateur Western Pleasure Stallions & Geldings qualifier and theAmateur Western Pleasure Reserve Championship. These two have their sights set on Oklahoma, and if they're this good now, just wait for October to hit. Lori Sargeant was back down from Wadsworth, Ohio to show her tall and elegant gelding, THREE FATES ADONIS (LPS The Boogie Man x CKH Calista) pictured left, to to several good ribbons. This gelding has wonderful hunter gaits and is big and impressive in the ring, which was well noted and secured him a 2nd in Hunter Pleasure Amateur, a blue ribbon in the Open Hunter Pleasure qualifier and finally the tricolor for the Open Hunter Pleasure Championship. From the same breeder who brought you the multiple World Champion TFF Selene, Lori has many other great young horses coming down the pike and is finally enjoying some time in the saddle herself. Two strong junior horses vied for placings here under the Gervasio banner and both came away winners. Karen and Mike Burridge's UDM HIGH WATERS (Sharp Dressed Gentleman x Shahaylee), pictured right, is a crowd favorite and after a reserve in the junior qualifier, came back solid to win the Junior Western Pleasure Championship. KINZU BITTER TEARS (Battle Cry x Sacred Paths Mona Lisa) pictured left, bred and owned by Kathleen & Daryl Pierce in Warren, PA, arrived in Ocala in January and has been a quick study. This adorable four year old mare made her debut at Citrus Cup and was 2nd in Limit Western Pleasure, won her junior horse qualifier and finished with Junior Western Pleasure Reserve Champion honors.

Gasparilla Charity and Jubilee of Breeds kick off the 2013 season with a flair: GULFWIND HIGH FIDELITY (Gulfwind Sir William x Stonecroft Chanel) and owner Janelle Schroeder (pictured right) of Cadence Farm, Chicago, IL had a super show with her beautiful gelding, winning both the Morgan Western Pleasure Amateur qualifier and the very competitive Amateur Western Pleasure Championship. This team has been working very hard and so we are thrilled they have finally "clicked". Also rewarding owner Laurie Faust for keeping the faith was MLB POWER PLAY (Play The Odds x Glyndan Melodious Joy), a 5 year old gelding who scored a good Reserve Championship in the Amateur Western Pleasure division at the Jubilee of Breeds Show in February with Laurie up, then after another few weeks of practice came back to Gasparilla with Alex Mitchell aboard to win both the Open Western Pleasure qualifier and the big Open Western Pleasure Championship at Gasparilla. This is a beautiful horse that just turns heads and wins fans everywhere he goes. Lori Sargeant rode her big, handsome gelding THREE FATES ADONIS (LPS The Boogie Man x CKH Calista), to a good win in the Morgan Open Hunter Pleasure at Jubilee of Breeds, tied reserve in the Amateur Hunter Pleasure and wrapped up that show with Reserve Champion Hunter Pleasure Amateur/Jr Exhibitor. This competitive team received good ribbons in the Morgan Hunter classes at Gasparilla, but were a standout in the Open To All Breeds division with a reserve in the qualifier and a Reserve Championship against a tough class of several different breeds. Karen and Mike Burridge's UDM HIGH WATERS (pictured left), liberally trimmed in white for maximum viewer attention, won both the Junior Horse qualifier and championship at the Jubilee of Breeds, much to the delight of spectators.

Welcome to these new horses! We've had several new horses arrive for training since last fall and many have already had owner visits. GULFWIND HIGH FIDELITY (Gulfwind Sir William x Stonecroft Chanel) is a maternal brother to WC Treble's High End Piece and is being tuned up for owner Janelle Schroeder of Cadence Farm in Dubuque, IA. Also working well is Laurie Faust's nice big gelding MLB POWER PLAY (Play The Odds x Glyndan Melodious Joy), a 5 year old gelding from Port Orange, FL. Kathleen and Daryl Pierce of Kinzu Morgans in Warren, PA didn't want to be left out after selling Equinox Fear This last fall in OKC, so they sent down KINZU BITTER TEARS (Battle Cry x Sacred Paths Mona Lisa), a 4 yr old mare, so take his place. THREE FATES ADONIS (LPS The Boogie Man x CKH Calista), a 7 yr old gelding owned by Lori Sargeant in Wadsworth, OH, is gearing up to have some fun in the hunter pleasure division during our Florida winter show circuit. And after her brother had a banner year last year, HOLLYBROOK OOH LA LA (Futurity French Command x Bery Banke Arboria), a 9 yr old mare owned by Joyce Metters of Hollybrook Farm in Lexington, NC, has arrived in the training barn and we are very excited to see if she has what it takes to follow in Hollybrook Touche's hoofprints!
